Penguins!

Students in this guided reading group have read a book about penguins. After reading, they needed to take what the author said and put it into their own words.

Welcome Parents and Students!

The new school year is here and we are off to a running start! Thank you to all of you who stopped in to say hello during the Meet and Greets at Leighton and Craddock. I appreciate all of the time that you take to ensure that your students have a successful school year. Being an educational partner to your student's classroom teacher is the best step you can make to having a positive year. No matter which math class your student is in, there is always going to be opportunity for challenge. All extension activities that I do in the 4th and 5th grade GTMP classes will be shared with all other math teachers within the grade level. Classroom teachers also have opportunities for critical and logical thinking within their classrooms. Some call these anchor activities, some call it dessert work- but all have options for your students to do if they finish other work early.
I will be checking the links on this blog over the weekend, but if you have found that there are dead links, please feel free to comment to me here or send me a quick email at sgagel@aurora-schools.org In the future, I may keep this blog solely as a place for links for kids, and have another blog with information specific to parents. Look in your student's backpack for any changes in the future!
So happy to be working with your kids!

Reading Resources

Because so many parents have requested additional reading material for their students, I have started compiling lists of books recommended on Amazon that might appeal to your students. Take a look over to the right for some of these lists!

Welcome to my blog!

Greetings to all! This is my first experience with "blogging" and I hope that it will be a helpful resource for my students, their parents and classroom teachers.
